JOB TITLE: Marketing and Communications Manager

LOCATION: Twin Cities Metro

SALARY: Based on experience

TYPE: Full Time / 40 hours

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Children’s Cancer Research Fund is dedicated to finding a cure for childhood cancer by providing funds to the University of Minnesota for research and training relating to the prevention, treatment and cure of childhood cancer. The organization also educates the public about childhood cancer and supports quality-of-life programs for pediatric cancer patients and their families.

This position is responsible for all public communications, publications, brand management, advertising, media relations, and public relations for charity with over $10 million in annual revenue. Primary activities include: plan and implement marketing and communications strategies; develop all marketing collateral and promotional materials for events and programs; develop and incorporate key messages and core content for all communication channels; manage all design and print vendor relationships; develop and maintain all media relationships for print and broadcast media partners, work jointly with departments at the University of Minnesota and the University of Minnesota Children’s Hospital/Fairview on communications and public relations.

EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

    • Bachelor of Arts in Communications-related field.
    • Three- five years marketing/communications and PR experience, including marketing strategy.
    • Ability to think strategically, tactically, and identify process improvements.
    • Some graphic design experience.
    • Demonstrated strong written and verbal communication skills, including solid presentation skills.
    • Excellent skills in project management and time management.
    • Vendor relationship management experience and skills.
    • Must have high integrity and maintain confidentiality.
