Meet Emma

Chlidren's Cancer Research Fund is proud to announce Emma Laehn as the 2010 ambassador child for Macy's Passport presents Glamorama. Emma was only 2 and ½ when she was diagnosed with Neuroblastoma, a cancer of the nerve tissue. During Emma's hospital stay, she underwent surgery to remove the cancerous tumor in her chest, and received three rounds of chemotherapy.

While Emma doesn't remember much about her time in the hospital, she knows how lucky she is to have survived her battle with cancer and gone on to live a healthy and normal life. Today, she is a happy 13-year-old, active in basketball and softball in her hometown of Pepin, WI. The family was so thankful for the help of University of Minnesota Amplatz Children's Hospital and Children's Cancer Research Fund that, since 2000, they've coordinated a 10K walk called Emma's Hope in Pepin, which has raised nearly $150,000 to date. The tenth anniversary of Emma's Hope will take place on Saturday, September 18, 2010. Read Emma's complete story here.
