Thank you to the following organizations, groups and individuals who champion our cause by hosting fundraisers to benefit Children’s Cancer Research Fund.

Honoring an Angell

The second annual Angellfest was held in October in memory of Marissa Angell, who lost her battle with brain cancer in 2009. Held on what would have been Marissa’s 22nd birthday, more than 150 friends and family participated in a night of fun, silent auction bidding and dancing. Thanks to the Angell family’s efforts, more than $13,000 was raised that evening, bringing their lifetime giving to $63,000. The Angells organized a family fund through Children’s Cancer Research Fund with a goal to raise $100,000 to help fund brain tumor research.

Birdie for a cure

This past August, the Bohannon Group Foundation of Northwestern Mutual Financial Network hosted their 8th annual charity golf event. The Bohannon Group partners with local sponsors and brings golfers together for a tournament that benefits Children’s Cancer Research Fund. This year, proceeds also benefited Minnesota Vikings linebacker Chad Greenway’s Lead the Way Foundation.

The 2011 event raised more than $62,500 toward our mission to find a cure for childhood cancer. Thank you to Children’s Cancer Research Fund mission partner, Bohannon Group, for their ongoing support of our cause.

Partners in our cause

Children’s Cancer Research Fund was honored to be the beneficiary of the Wealth Enhancement Group’s annual client appreciation party, where the theme this year was all about partnership. Wealth Enhancement Group founded their firm as a values-based firm, helping clients make financial decisions based on their values, and as a firm, they strive to do the same. In all, more than $20,000 was raised to support our cause.
