Hope in the Park
Care Partners hosted their 17th annual Picnic of Hope on June 11 at Long Lake Regional Park in New Brighton. This annual tradition brings families together to connect with former care givers and families of patients who have gone through a bone marrow transplant (BMT) or treatment for cancer at University of Minnesota Amplatz Children’s Hospital.
A group of around 100, including Drs. Joseph Neglia, Brenda Weigel, and Emily Lipsitz, enjoyed a bright, sunny day and a variety of art, craft and face painting activities as well as a delicious picnic from Dickey’s Barbecue Pit.
Watch for a new date and location in 2013! To help commemorate Childhood Cancer Awareness Month, we’ll be moving Picnic of Hope to the month of September.
