Long-Term Follow-Up Clinic
The Long-Term Follow-Up Clinic at University of Minnesota provides health care to survivors of childhood and adulthood cancers. The providers are specialists with knowledge and experience in the treatment of cancer and the long-term effects of treatment. Long-term follow-up care includes screening for delayed complications of therapy, education about possible long-term effects, and monitoring of health care needs based on risk factors associated with prior cancer treatment.
Treatments
Physicians offer a comprehensive array of diagnostic and therapeutic procedures and consultation including:
- Personal disease history and therapy review
- Screening for late effects
- Education on reducing the risks of the late effects
- Clinical exams and laboratory tests
- Treatment summaries for the cancer survivor and his/her primary physician
- Referral coordination to specialty care if needed
- Counseling on education and occupational concerns
- Information about current research and knowledge of late effects
